BioWare releases launch trailer for Omega DLC for Mass Effect

BioWare has released the launch trailer for its latest Mass Effect 3 DLC, titled Omega. The game has Aria T'loak join your squad as you retake Omega - a settlement for some of the poorest and meanest in the galaxy.

The Omega DLC marks a big day for the Mass Effect franchise as it will be the first time that players will get to interact with a female TUrian. It is also set to be the biggest and most expensive DLC that BioWare has released for Mass Effect 3. The trailer shows the hardships you will be facing in your attempts to help Aria take Omega back from Cerberus.

Earlier this month, BioWare had revealed that the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 will not be getting the major DLC that BioWare has released so far, including Leviathan and Omega.

An official statement form the Mass Effect Twitter account says, "Unfortunately it will not be available for the Wii U." This includes both the major DLC - Leviathan and the upcoming Omega. When asked whether any DLC would be making an appearance on the Wii U version of the game, EA replied saying, "Never say never :)".

Earlier this month, BioWare had released screenshots for Omega. The DLC is set to feature a fan-favourite character making an appearance after Mass Effect 2 - Aria T'Loak - as a squadmate. Omega is set to boast some brand new story, and will include the first female character of the Turian race that the player will have ever seen throughout the Mass Effect series. According to earlier reports, Aria is set to be one of the most powerful characters in the game, so far that the developers had to make changes to the combat system so as to not have the character be too overpowered.

BioWare had announced the release date and price for the DLC back in October. The single player campaign is launching for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 27, and will cost 1,200 Microsoft points or about $15 (Rs 793).

Omega is set to be the most expensive DLC released for the Mass Effect series yet, not counting in the online pass that came bundled with new copies of Mass Effect 2, but cost 1,200 Microsoft Points if you had a used copy. It is also set to be the largest DLC for Mass Effect 3 so far, with producer Mike Gamble describing it during the ongoing New York Comic Con as “double the size”of the largest Mass Effect 3 DLC so far. The DLC has you revisit Omega from the second game and team up with the ruler, Aria T’loak, to retake the space station back from the control of Cerberus. Among the features of the DLC is the inclusion of new enemies such as the Cerberus Dragoon class, which was recently added in the game for the multiplayer.
