Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 may be launched in India in December

It was earlier reported that Nokia had not yet finalised the launch date of its highly anticipated Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones in India. In what may come as good news to those interested in purchasing the Lumia 920 or the Lumia 820, our sources have informed us that these handsets will be launched simultaneously in December.

The handset has already appeared on some online retailer websites. Some of the retailers have mentioned with their listings that the Lumia 820 will be launched this month. When asked if both handsets would be launched separately, our source informed us both will be launched at the same time.

There is still no word regarding the official launch date of the handset. If this information is true, it should be available in time for Christmas shopping.

Nokia has a lot depending on the success of these handsets, and we expect them to launch an aggressive marketing campaign prior to the release of these handsets.

Nokia UK is teaming up with Deadmau5 to host an event on November 28. If the event is anything like last year’s event, we can expect it to be nothing short of epic.

Last year, when Nokia teamed up with Deadmau5, the event had a lot of laser lights. The event was something worth watching over and over again. Check out the video of last year’s Nokia event below.

UK was not the only place where Nokia aggressively marketed the last year’s flagship handset, the Lumia 800. In India too, the brand launched several 'Amazing Everyday' campaigns. Nokia made it one of its biggest handset announcements in the recent past.

However, we expect Nokia to go all out again, when it introduces the Lumia 820 and the Lumia 920. With HTC launching the 8X and the 8S in the near future, Nokia needs to market these handsets extremely well.

The Nokia Lumia 920 includes the latest Nokia PureView camera, which the company claims captures five times more light than competing smartphones. It gives bright pictures without flash, even indoors, and at night. It also features built-in wireless charging, making it easy to keep the battery topped up throughout the day, as well as a better-than-HD display.

The Nokia Lumia 820, Nokia Lumia 810, and Nokia Lumia 822 offer exchangeable covers in a range of colours. Both phones have the option to add wireless charging, have a sensitive touchscreen, and Nokia ClearBlack display technology. All phones come with the full suite of Nokia navigation applications, including Nokia City Lens, and Nokia Music that streams unlimited music directly to the phone.

Nokia first took the wraps off its Lumia 920 at the Nokia World 2012 event in New York City. The Nokia Lumia 920 will pack in a Snapdragon S4 and a PureView sensor. It also comes with the Blink app, which is the smartphone's Burst mode. The smartphone will feature an LCD display, which is a little higher than the HD displays available now. With a polycarbonate body the phone will be available in many colours.
