Specifications of mid-range Sony Xperia C360X leaked online

Over the past few days, there has been a steady stream of leaks of upcoming Sony smartphones, and the most notable ones are the Xperia Odin and the Sony Yuga. A report by GSMArena points to another handset from Sony that has surfaced through theNenaMark2 benchmark, which goes by the codename C3602.

As per the report, the handset that has recently made an appearance is the C3602, but the website notes that since the last digit could indicate which region it is from, the handset is best referred to as C360X.

The report states, “(The) C360X should be our first look at the mid-range offerings. The model number appeared in NenaMark 2 results database, which gives us info on the Android version – v4.0.4 as tested – and the GPU and the screen. The Xperia C360X has a 720p screen (not bad for a mid-ranger) and on-screen buttons (the reported resolution is 1196×720, the missing 84px are for the virtual keys). The GPU is an Adreno 225, which means we’re talking about a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, possibly the same MSM8260A chipset as on the Xperia T (which has two Krait cores at 1.5GHz).”

Another upcoming handset that is making the rounds is the Sony C6603 Yuga and it comes equipped with features such as a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The camera used here is 12MP while the display is 5-inches long with a resolution of 1080p.

The upcoming Sony C6603 Yuga features a unibody casing. Due to this, its battery will not be removable. The report by Xperia Blog claims that this will be the first handset to feature a glass back similar to the iPhone 4 and 4S.

A report stated, “The handset design looks elegant with a boxy shape (no arc or NXT features here) and a very thin bezel either side of the display. It has a striking chrome power button on the right side with volume rocker in the middle. A dedicated camera button is also present where you’d expect it to be.”

As for the software running on this handset, the report states that it is prototype running Android v4.1.1, a new kernel version (3.4) as well as 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware, which is Jelly Bean.

There have been a host of leaks pertaining to an upcoming Sony smartphone that goes by the codename Xperia C650X Odin. It is expected to be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in early 2013.

The official image, like the one spotted earlier, shows that the phone has an extremely narrow bezel and sports the Xperia logo at the bottom. It also has a metallic finish.

The handset is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, and 32GB of onboard storage. An earlier report stated that Sony was preparing a C650X smartphone under the code name of Odin. The report went on to state, “As detected in its User-Agent Profile (UAProf), the phone looks to run Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and Sony's 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware. To be clear, there is no other evidence to support the claim of "flagship" device. Considering we're talking about early 2013, the idea of anything older than 4.1 would be met with a collective grumbling by the Android masses. Yet, if Sony is able to build on the momentum of recent models (Xperia T), then the Odin could be mythical indeed.”

Sony is also expected to launch three new handsets with the model numbers C6502, C6503, and C6506. However, it could be that these are model numbers of variants of the same handset.
