Acer seems to be working on a new tablet behind closed doors. According to Tech Radar, the latest tablet by the company may possibly be the Acer Iconia Tab A220, which is believed to be the tablet in benchmarks.
The tablet is set to be powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. While the benchmarks don't give any information about the screen size of the tablet, the resolution will be 1280 x 752, which hints towards a 7-inch tablet.

In October, it was revealed that Acer had delayed its Windows RT tablets. The company is taking its time to see how Microsoft's own tablet - the Surface - will fare. While Acer had initially planned to roll out Windows RT tablets early next year, it has now delayed the shipments till at least the second quarter of 2013, thanks to the mixed reviews for the Surface.
Launched in India in June, the Acer Iconia Tab A510 was launched in the US back in April for $449 that translated to about Rs 24,000. The A510 is competitor to high-end devices. With the Asus Transformer Prime coming in at Rs 50,000, and also featuring a quad-core Tegra 3 SoC processor, Acer just could get a leg up on the competition. The A510’s processor has been clocked to 1.3GHz and will also come with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) straight out of the box with the new ‘Acer Ring’ UI layered on top. It will have an onboard memory of 32GB, which can be further expanded with a MicroSD memory card. With 1GB RAM the tablet should also prove to be a speedy device.
Unfortunately the A510 doesn’t seem to have a standard USB port for thumb drives etc unlike its predecessor which could be a setback for some. Acer has incorporated Dolby Mobile 3+ audio engine with the twin stereo speakers for a better audio experience. The tab also has a 9800mAh battery, which should give users great battery life in comparison to other tablets currently in the Indian market.
