Karbonn to launch 5.9-inch A30 for Rs 10,900

Smartphone manufacturers seem to have entered into an arms race, with Karbonn being the latest to join. The company is going to launch its new phone—the A30—which comes with a 5.9-inch display. The Karbonn A30 is priced at Rs 10,900. While the phone hasn't been officially announced by Karbonn, it is available on some online retail stores for pre-order. As is typical of phones developed by Indian companies, the A30 comes with a dual-SIM slot. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and has an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. It also has a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. The company has not given any word on the RAM of the device or the display resolution as of yet. Other major features of the A30 include a 2,500 mAh battery, which, given the screen size, may not be very sufficient. It also has Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi capabilities along with a MicroSD card slot. The Karbonn A30 phone with a 5.9-inch screen In October, the company had unveiled the Karbonn Agnee tablet at the Innovation Qualcomm India 2012 event held in Delhi. It is a 3G tablet powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 MSM 7x27A processor. The company had further revealed that the tablet is priced in the Rs 10,000 bracket. The Agnee tablet is available in three variants. Jelly Bean will be supported by the tablet, but the update is scheduled for an unannounced date in the future. In addition, the Agnee tablet features several India-centric apps that will be free initially, but subscription-based later. USB support will also be available on the lower end models of the Agnee tablet. Back in September, Karbonn had introduced its Smart A18 Android phone. The ICS running phone is powered by a 1Ghz processor and has a price tag of Rs 12,990. The Karbonn Smart A18 smartphone features Dual SIM capabilities, where SIM 1 supports 3G and SIM 2 supports 2G. It also offers USB Tethering, Sensor Support (G-Sensor, Magnetic G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor). The 5MP shooter on the Smart A18 smartphone features continuous shooting and face detection. Other features include: Google Apps like Google Currents, Google Maps, Google Search and Gmail, Pre-Embedded Apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Karbonn Smart Browser, King Soft Office, NexGTv, PayTM. These features make it the phone of choice for the emerging smartphone user of the country. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Karbonn Mobiles details that the handset has been launched under the hugely successful Karbonn ‘Smart’ eco-system, which brings to the discerning mobile phone consumer of the country a vista for innovative technology and product excellence.
